The Name

Paramsat joins two Sanskrit words, परम सत् (param sat). Param means "highest" or "supreme". Sat means "that which is": being, the real, the good. It is the root of satya, truth, and of sattva, purity or essence. Together, paramsat is an attested term in Vedanta for the ultimate reality.

The name was chosen for a place meant to hold what lasts. It was settled on 10 September 2026, after a long search through words for truth and reality in many languages, and paramsat.com was registered the same day.

Two misreadings were weighed and accepted. A programmer may read param as a parameter and -sat as a satellite, and ParamSAT is also the name of a computer science workshop on parameterized satisfiability. The wordmark sets the name as param•sat with the Sanskrit beneath it, so the reading travels with the word.

Inside Paramsat the name keeps out of the way. A person has a Lab, a Lab holds projects, and a project holds artifacts; those are the words on the page.
